Pet Waggin’ absolutely ADORES our Long Beach community! From Rosie’s Dog Beach to the shops on 2nd street to all the amazing people in between, we’re proud to call Long Beach our home! One of the greatest things about Long Beach is the fact that so many amazing restaurants welcome our furry friends to dine with us!
But, we’re here to dig a little deeper and give a shoutout to some of our favorite places that do a little extra to accommodate our special canines!
This Irish Pub is a great place to take your pet for a doggie date because you know he’ll be treated right! This pub features live music, great comfort food, a pawtio for dining with pups, and a special dog menu! If you want to know just how special the owner treats furry customers, we wanted to share part of a Yelp review from Evie W on 6/2/2019. She wrote, “The owner brought out a blanket for our new boxer who had been shaking because he was nervous. The blanket really did the trick. Thank you!” If you’re ready for your new go-to place, look no further!

This family-run business is the second venture for the McKee family. After the success of their first restaurant, Eggs Etc (which is also a wonderful pet-friendly restaurant that our founder, Mary Ellen, LOVES), they wanted to bring their family cooking and legendary banana pancakes closer to Long Beach and the students and faculty and Cal State Long Beach. Their large, shaded, dog-friendly patio makes this local spot a great place to grab breakfast or lunch when you’re out on your morning or afternoon walk!

The Social List is a fun modern European tavern here in Long Beach based on the concept of sharing and community. All plates are meant to be shared amongst the table and their ingredients are high-quality from local producers, which we love! They have a dog-friendly patio perfect for your pooch along with water bowls (because, well, hydration!). We recommend stopping by for happy hour or brunch.

Plunge is a dog-friendly and vegan-friendly restaurant! There’s something on the menu for everyone! When you bring your dog to Plunge, let them check out the “Furry Friends” section of the menu, which features an Angus beef patty or grilled chicken breast. Plunge also provides complimentary water bowls for your pooch. You can rest assured that both you, your pet, and your vegan friends can find something delicious at Plunge!

This German restaurant likes to take traditional German food and gives it a modern twist and serves you freshly tapped German and Belgian beers on its dog-friendly patio! Check out some great options of schnitzel, sausages, Bavarian pretzels, and apple strudel! Grab your dog and hit the patio for some puppy sausages and fresh H2O. Your buddy is going to love this fun and lively establishment just as much as you!

Vibe’s focuses on good vibes, as their name implies! 😉 They do this by focusing on the community around them, which we love! They do their best to ensure that everything they serve comes from within the community, is good for the environment, and supports small businesses! Their open patio is dog-friendly, so come raise both you and your pup’s vibrations with some Coastal-Californian food and specialty roasted coffee!

You can think of Beachwood as “innovative BBQ.” As they like to say, they like to “teeter between tradition and innovation, crossing the line between BBQ that everyone knows and loves and new favorites that are waiting to be enjoyed.” They feature 22 rotating taps and one cask-conditioned beer, incredible brisket, 24-hour marinated pulled pork, and ribs that fall off the bone.

If you’re looking for elevated Mexican cuisine, look no further than Playa Amor! Chefs’ Thomas Ortega and Jon-Erik Carpo, along with restaurateur Todd Tsujoka call themselves the three amigos and bring to you an approachable, gourmet experience that reflects the rich Mexican-American heritage that can be found here in Southern California! Their dog-friendly patio has some great heaters that will come in handy on those cool nights!

All the Long Beach locals know about Starling Diner. It’s been around forever and is a true favorite for dining with your doggie. Located in Belmont Heights, it’s the perfect spot to get breakfast all day long on their pet-friendly patio. Hint: They only have about 4 outdoor tables, so we suggest getting there early. ;)

We are huge fans of Olives Gourmet Grocer and Taste Wine-Beer-Kitchen. These two amazing establishments are joining forces to open a parklet in the space between their buildings. It’ll be an al fresco dining experience - A.K.A., the perfect place to bring your four-legged friend for what we know will be some delicious eats!
